Usually plants are animals’food. For instances, sheep feed on grass，elephants take in leaves. But we live in a wonderful world that will shock you from time to time—some animals would fall prey to plants.They are carnivorous plants,plants that eat insects and small animals. Here are four carnivorous plants.

Cobra Lily

Just like its name indicates, this plant looks like a snake and it can produce some kind of fluid that is sticky.When insects try to eat its nectar, the fluid will help the plant trap them and make them its delicacy.

Sundew

Sundews have needles with sticky droplets. Insects are attracted to them. They get stuck in the goo and become Sundews’food.

Venus flytraps

Venus flytraps have jawlike leaves. The jaws usually keep open. When flies or other insects happen to touch the leaves, the jaws close immediately. The leaves have spiky hairs like men’s beard which form a closed door when the jaws close. Bye-bye, fly!

Pitcher Plant

This plant got the name for its shape. People think it looks like a water pitcher or some kind of container. It has a big mouth. When small animals look inside for food, they might fall in and can’t escape. The plant digests them.

Cobra Lily（眼鏡蛇百合）

就像它的名字所顯示的那樣，這種植物長得像蛇，它能分泌一種黏糊糊的液體。當昆蟲吃花蜜時，黏液會幫助植物捕捉昆蟲當“下酒菜”。

Sundew（茅膏菜）

Sundews 長有針狀物，針狀物的末端分泌黏性的水珠。昆蟲會被這些黏性水珠吸引、困住，成為Sundews 的食物。

Venus flytraps（捕蠅草）

Venus flytraps 的葉子像嘴巴，平時張開。一旦蒼蠅或者其他昆蟲觸碰到葉子，嘴巴立即關閉。葉子上像男人胡子的利刺兒會形成一道關閉的門。再見，蒼蠅！

Pitcher plant（瓶子草）

這種植物因外形而得其名。人們覺得它像水壺或者某種容器。這種植物有一張大嘴。當小動物尋找食物時，會掉入容器中無法逃脫，并最終被植物消化掉。
